Previous Activities in SAPSAP R/3 in general Since 2001 I have been gathering extensive experiences with SAP. SAP holds some valuable design concepts that I could not find with other software systems. This is especially true for the integrative character of SAP that seems to be missing for any of the Java platforms known to me. SAP-Modules During the last years I worked with the following SAP modules: QM, IS-H, MM, SD, SRM, IS-M, BW, BC. My activities with these modules include: QM Extension of complex inspection plan logic, introduction of physical samples, implementation and extension of widespread inspection instructions, inspection protocols and certificates, porting of existing SAPScript forms to Smartforms with concurrent consolidation and unification of data acquisition. IS-H Long-term activities in this module, mainly in the field of patient management (e.g. NV2000), but also with the DRG grouper, customizing, accounting of services, etc. MM First- and second-Level Support for MM users. Often had to do with the material master in several projects. SD Extension and creation of complex SD forms (invoice, delivery note...) with SAPScript. SRM Manifold and complex extension of the quite rare SAP standard, using the following technologies:
Also see recent SRM-activities. IS-M Some customer extensions, mainly in the sector of business partner master. Linking of an own product for extended BP-synchronization and for address management with integrated duplicate identification. BW Working with multiprovider, infoset, infoprovider, datasource and transformation rules. Creating numerous different maintenance views for attributes. Used ABAP Web Dynpro for that, including trees, grids, and custom-specific views. ABAP Daily business for any SAP developer. Thus, I worked really a lot with ABAP. ABAP/Objects Please find a printed article of me (local copy) published in the magazine Objektspektrum. SAP NetWeaver During the years I could gather practical experience with NetWeaver ABAP as well as with the Java-platform. Besides that, I published a book review about a SAP NetWeaver book in the German Javamagazin. Web Dynpro for ABAP Web Dynpro enables to develop highly complex web applications in a blink of an eye. To my knowledge this is a unique experience that no other technology offers (as far as I know Ruby does not allow to create highly complex web applications rapidly). Web Dynpro for Java There is not much to say at the moment. Except that the Java side of SAP (NWDS - NetWeaver Developer Studio for Java) has not much in common with the other parts of SAP. But I support the step towards Java, the possibly most innovative really popular programming language (some call it a platform) of the time. Business Server Pages Convenient technology for building web pages. How bad that it's only available with newer SAP releases. Business HTML + Javascript It seems that Business HTML (BHTML) is a strange technology in the context of SAP. it is similar to other techs outside SAP. Together with undocumented Javascript functions used excessively in some SAP modules, it is a challenge that I am ready to take (reminds me on goold ol' times of Z80-Assembler programming)...
